Wanaka is an ideal place to learn to fly. Apart from the unique landscape Wanaka has to offer it also offers job opportunities for those pilots who plan to fund their aviation studies from working in this vibrant town.

The weather is variable, however there are very few days unsuitable for flying. This means you have more choice of when and where you want to fly. The airport is approx 10 minutes drive from Wanaka and the Wanaka environment is a great training area for any pilot from Private Pilot's Licence (PPL) through to Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL).

There are magnificent and varied flying conditions with the proximity of the Southern Alps and the Main Divide including the West Coast, Fiordland and Mt Cook.

Wanaka is an awesome outdoors centre. Almost every activity is practiced in and around Wanaka from snowboarding and skiing in the winter to fishing, rock climbing, boating, mountain biking and tramping in the summer.

We are confident in stating that Wanaka is by far the best location in New Zealand to train as a pilot.
