Career opportunities in flying

There are approximately 2000 commercial pilots working in New Zealand working in a range of flying positions from pilots on commuter airlines through to flight instructors.

While flying for a commercial airline is the aim of many pilots, there are many different flying opportunities available in New Zealand. For example jobs are available in scenic flight operations, private charter companies, parachute dropping, glider towing, corporate pilots, agricultural flying or being an instructor.

All of these options are open to you when your commercial pilots licence has been obtained.
