Aspiring Air Flight Training - Private and Commercial Pilot's Licences

COMMERCIAL PILOTS LICENCE

Flight training in the Wanaka and Aspiring mountainous environment is an invaluable experience that puts you “on top”. A much higher standard of flying is achieved through the specialised training required to operate in this area. It’s a whole new learning curve! Add to that the sheer pleasure of flying in the mountains, and you’ll be glad you came.

To qualify for employment with Aspiring Air (and practically any other local operator) a minimum of 50 hours local experience time is required which includes Mountain Flying, Strip and Beach training, Milford Sound and Mt Cook route checks, etc. In obtaining your CPL with us, these requirements will have been covered. Add to that various type ratings (which may involve extra cost for more expensive aircraft) and you are a fresh CPL with a level of experience and knowledge that surpasses others.

CPL training is provided on demand with timetable being flexible to meet your availability of time and money. The idea is to fly at least once or twice per day and include a computer session once per day for theory study. It is advisable to have one or two days free from study and training per week.

While the programme is structured, flexibility is important to maximise the conditions and the associated training benefits. This is where our programme clearly prepares pilots for employment, particularly locally and is not just to pass a flight test. As a result, attributes such as commitment, responsibility, initiative and personality are particularly important. As you undergo your training you are already being observed by local employers who are noting potential and performance as prospective employees.

Most often quoted hindsight expressed by late starters with Aspiring Air Ltd, "I wish I did all my training here!"
